OUR SERVICES

                                    Respite care

                                              What is respite care?
This form of care and support offers interim relief for the main caregiver, enabling you to take a break from the demands of caregiving for a disabled, ageing, or sick family member. Everyone needs to have a break at some point. There are times when you as a carer need some time for you. Whilst you take time out, go away or just recharge , we will ensure your loved ones are safe and well looked after.
We are proud to be an NDIS respite care provider, and we provide a wide range of in-home respite services, including respite care for dementia carers and respite care for the elderly. We understand that caring for someone can be challenging.

                                        When is respite care needed?
There is not a fixed time for when respite care is needed or should be sought after.

  • As often as required
  • As soon as you start to notice signs that you need a break, seeking respite care is advised, do not wait until you are too overwhelmed or stressed
  • Have respite care organised on a periodic regular basis so that they know that they will routinely get a break so that they can recharge
  • Any incidents whereby you require last-minute respite care, for example, if you are sick or you have a family emergency to attend to

Having a physical or cognitive disability can make getting out and about difficult. Many individuals with a physical or cognitive limitation are aware that getting out and about in the community presents significant challenges. The recent study found” Factors in a person’s environment that, through their absence or presence, limit functioning and create disability. ”. We define community access as the actual physical access to environments external to the home. It encompasses the travel to and from as well as the task performed in the community. Therefore we are huge in our supports as follows:

We will pick you up from your preferred place of origin and drop you off at the preferred destination of school and or work and return. Our service primarily focuses on Individual capacity, supporting through life skills training and development, community engagement and community inclusion.
  • Recreation and leisure activities: Community access is an important part of the life of a person with a disability, as it provides access to recreation tasks, social opportunities and enables an individual to develop skills and competencies. We consider and support individualised choices and goals in meeting all dimensions of the quality of life for all people, including those with disabilities.
  • Individual trips: Aqua Blue Care services recognises that individuals with disabilities may lack physical capacity, mobility or cognition to safely and comfortably access the community.
